I know how elusive being atop the picks can be, so I'm cashing in my chips while I am near the top.

J, I trust you had a good Christmas?

Yes we did, we celebrated our first great grandchild's, Norah, first Christmas. She is all of six weeks old and a lot of pictures were shared via texting. Isn't telephone technology just wonderful? It was a quite Christmas for Mrs. J and me this year, very unusual for the norm but rather enjoyable. By the way, Santa brought Norah her first Roll Tide wardrobe and She seemed to really enjoy wearing the Crimson color.  Wink

That's great, J! And I know Great Grandpa will be working hard to get her to say her first Roll Tide!!!

 Cheesy

Ha, I told them that every time she cries, she is just practicing her Roll Tide. Grin

Good for her!  I think Rammer Jammer first comes during the terrible twos.

Good morning and ROLL TIDE.  Coffee

Wonderful story about Norah, J.  Those little angels are a blessing.

We get a break today from the bowls, so I guess I'll watch NFL.  Last night the bowls were fun, despite USCw not beating the line.  Good stuff.

Have a fun Sunday, everybody.  We've got rain approaching, then cold.

We have more rain on the way, as well. As much as we got yesterday, it was nothing compared to what Baldwin County, Al got.

I played what is probably my final round of golf yesterday, at my favorite local golf course, Marcus Point. Very bittersweet. Shot an 81, but they will be shutting the course down forever, Wednesday afternoon.  Sad

This is the 3rd golf course in the last 6 years to shut down in the Pensacola area. It breaks my heart. I'll be playing most of my golf now at the Navy Base. What could go wrong there?

Marines could break your golf sticks and escort you off government property.

Laughing I'm more worried about gov't cutbacks. The same Blue Angels that fly over the golf course when they practice, were grounded for a while last year.

Back home safely in Maryland this evening. Not a bad Christmas, I would say. Watched some football, opened a few presents, ate too much, and drove a lot. Hope it was good for y'all as well.

That's sad and it's the trend that is going around the country. Tuscaloosa is hanging on with most of their clubs but just barely. Hopefully you can find another course in your area that has reasonable prices soon and call it home. Wink

The Navy Base really is a great place to play golf. Tiger Point, too, for that matter. They are bringing back the West course that was completely destroyed by Hurricane Ivan. I will really miss Marcus Point, though. Good location and great course. Unfortunately, it was mismanaged the last couple of years and can't recover from that. Such is life.

Maybe we should buy the pacle and keep it open.  Surely we can make enough dough from 2 and crew to turn a profit.  Do they take e-creds?

Laughing  I'd contribute a bundle of e-creds if it'd help.  But I want 2 to promise to keep the mulligans to one per 9 holes, and no foot putts!
