I'm optimistic about our chances this year to make a splash and perhaps a sweet 16. But for me it's hard to think much about b-ball when our football team is undefeated.
As excited as I am about the 2012-13 season, I am trying to be realistic about our prospects. Some of you are setting yourself up for disappointment when you should be plum tickled with the program exceeding last years performance.
CAG made lemonade out of _____ two years ago by emphasizing defense and out working our opponents. That continued into last years play, but the Tide was beset, plagued with personality conflicts and off court issues. JMHO but I think we have been blessed with a recruit (Pollard) that usually ends up on one of the elite team's rosters. But he is still only 1 season removed from high school and will get bullied and battered by 22 year olds, for at least a large part of this season. But while he can't immediately fill the void left by Mitchell, he will begin to get stronger and learn to play at that level. So hopefully, by mid-way of 2012-13 we'll be better than we were last year. Also hopefully, we'll get more night in and night out consistency from Lacy, Randolph, etc. So in short, making the dance again, and maybe advancing a game should be considered dramatic/realistic progress.
