The only way it could be better is if Madoff had screwed the Mets AND the Yankees.

As my first post on this site, I would like to use one of the smileys provided.  Since you dissed my Yankees,  Angry

Sorry bamaengineer. Just look at it as the rantings of an annually disgusted-with-what-the-management-does-with-this-team and Yankees-RedSox-own-our-butt Orioles fan.  Cry Cry

You gotta take the Buck Showalter lead and insult teams better than you for no reason.  I understand.  I personally enjoyed his comments about Epstein.  Yall have some good young talent, but you need a lot more of it.

Yep. If they would stop spending money on over-the-hill talent and actually cultivate the farm system, I think things could be better. Love Markakis and Roberts, and I think Luke Scott could be a very good player. Need more pitching.

Matusz is a future ace in the making.  He's got really good stuff and seems to have a good makeup about him.  Markakis is a player that really frustrates me.  Each year I think he is going to have a breakout season and become one of the game's premier outfielders, but he never does.  I really like Adam Jones too.  Yall definitely got the better end of that Bedard trade.  Luke Scott puts up really good numbers for a guy that doesn't really get that many ABs.  I'm interested to see what he does this year since he seems to be in line to get a full season's worth of ABs.

Screw the Yankees!! Go Braves!! Plus, I have been an Orioles fan since the late 60's, early 70's of Brooks and Frank Robinson, Jim Palmer, Dave McNally, Boog Powell, Dave Johnson, Mike Cuellar, Al Bumbry, and many more. What a team.

About a year ago, I played golf with Tim Spooneybarger in Pensacola. He came up in the Braves org. and threw his arm out. The last team he played for was the Orioles in 2008 or 2009. He told me the same thing, that the O's really needed to build a good farm system. He was turning free agent when we talked. CB, do you know what ever happened to him? I suspect that may have been the end of his career since his velocity was a mere shadow of what it once was.

Wow MD, I thought I was the only Braves-Orioles fan in the country. Nice to meet a fellow Bravo-Bird.

Hey 2, the best I can find out is that he never made it out of the O's Single A team in Aberdeen, MD and became a free agent at the end of 2008. I think he is now officially retired.

I hope you are right, ricky. The team sure played much better toward the end of last season after Buck took over. Now if Angelos would get off his butt and spend some money, plus have people in place to actually draft well and stock the minor league teams, the O's could get back up to competing again.

Thanks CB. That's a shame. When he was with the Braves, his fast ball was better than John Rocker's. It was just as fast, but had movement on it.
