Remember when the Auburn Tigers were the Chicago Cubs of college football? Lovable when they lost and tortured when they won.

Auburn's tough luck and woe is what made college football's favorite little brother so lovable. Most followers of a school are simply called fans. These folks demand to be called "the Auburn family.''

Then a strange thing happened. The school's luck started to change with juco transfers Cam Newton and Nick Fairley. Some 14 games later, Auburn won the national title and Newton was the runaway winner of the Heisman Trophy. All was right.

Or so we thought.

In the days immediately following Auburn's 22-19 victory over Oregon in the national title game, the jokes began.

Famous sports artist Daniel Moore has been commissioned to do a national championship picture for Auburn. He's doing it on pencil in case it has to be erased.

These guys are taking up more of the college football scene than anyone. I wonder if all this attention is what gets them recruits all the time. They know win or lose they are going to be in the media so they use this to bait recruits. JMO. RTR!

The exposure they have gotten in the last year is not helping recruiting. Being in the SEC is what is helping their recruiting.

Spirit (the Booger eagle) is off the injured reserve, but predictably PETA is conducting an investigation, although no official notice of allegations has been delivered yet.

Finebaum has figured out that  by kicking people when they are down not only do other fan bases love it but the one getting kicked fights back hard and it makes great radio.

Funny that even winning a Nat Title I consider Auburn down because they cheated and everyone knows it. Makes them look dirty and then their is the 107th ranked D this year..lol

The boogs will never know what class and tradition is and how to act when you do win.

Was Saban happy with just one title at Bama, heck no he is setting up to play every year for a title, thats how you do it.

He learned that long ago.  The only time I was ever a regular listener was back about 10 years ago when I had a long commute from work.  He knew the tactics and used them well back then too.
