The Razorbacks may not be the Razorbacks of old. The difference? They play respectable defense now. Combine that with a lethal passing attack that will challenge what many fans and media consider the nation's premier secondary, and you have the makings of Game of the Century, the prequel.

Arkansas has an identity, on both sides of the ball, even if the competition hasn't been sterling. As for Alabama, to quote Winston Churchill, the second-ranked Crimson Tide is "a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma."

Truth is, even after a no-frills 3-0 start, we don't know much about Nick Saban's 2011 work in progress.

Ok the pre-season is over for Bama. Is the Tide a contender or a pretender? I have no clue at this point but come Saturday around 5-6 we will know. Bama has to score at least 27 to win so says my insider person at Harvey's Corner Sportsbook and Landscape Company.

Oh really?  We will see about that.  It wasn't so respectable against Troy.  I guess compared to Auburn and Miss State you might call it respectable.

Leave it to the Birmingham News to write that the Arkansas secondary is better than the Bama secondary. Even this guy's own children are laughing and making fun of him.

Sounds like Doug Segrest is a Barner now.  His team lost yesterday, his undies are twisted, so now he's calling Bama less-than capable and promoting Arky to a contender.

"Keep crying, Doug.  You'd be happier working for a newspaper allied with a winner.  Until then, keep hoping for Bama's demise.

I was shocked when I clicked on the link and didn't see Scarbinsky as the author.  The line I bolded reeks of Scarbinsky.

How could a Alabama newspaper be against any school in Alabama. I guess Birmingham should move to GA or somewhere. Birmingham does nothing for Alabama other than cause the murder rate to go up. RTR!
