Florida to play at LSU Nov. 19

The LSU–Florida game originally canceled due to Hurricane Matthew has been rescheduled for Saturday, Nov. 19, the SEC announced Thursday.

The Tigers and Gators will play in Baton Rouge after the schools decided to buy out of their respective non-conference games against South Alabama and Presbyterian.

There was debate about whether the game would be played this season, as well as which school would host. The matter has been settled after the parties agreed for LSU to travel to Florida in consecutive seasons, in 2017 and 2018.

The ESPN article stated that current SEC bylaws stipulate that a team must play all eight SEC games to be eligible for the SECCG. So all our speculation about what would happen if the game wasn't played was moot.

I know Florida will get LSU at home the next two years, but it still seems that LSU came out way on top in this deal.

I don't see LSU winning all those games either.  They play Florida on a Saturday, then turn around to play at TAMU on Thanksgiving night.  That, and revenue, are two reasons LSU didn't want to play at Gainesville, it would have given them three straight SEC road games with a short week at the end.

If Florida wins, LSU will never hear the end of it. Their AD made them the villain.

I am pulling for UF more than ever. IMO the SEC should have taken the option of moving the game off the table. This should be UF's home game.

A lot of people thought UF was dodging the game. I doubt they think that anymore.

  I am with pmull on this one. I want Coach Mc. to slam the door in the lsu face for kicking miles out in the middle of a year like this. To me that was not much class. RTR!
