QB's to play three series at a time. Interesting.

On his “Hey, Coach!” statewide radio show Thursday night, Alabama coach Nick Saban revealed that quarterbacks AJ McCarron and Phillip Sims will play three series at a time against Kent State. “I hate to say it publicly,” Saban said, “but it is a bit of an audition.” He reiterated that he has no problem playing both of them in perpetuity if one doesn’t separate from the other (and don’t forget tailback Trent Richardson in the Wildcat).

I don't like that. How does the QB get in a rhythm unless he's just handing off the ball every play?

I don't like that. How does the QB get in a rhythm unless he's just handing off the ball every play?

I think the three series at a time allows them to get in a rhythm. Three series is about one quarter. This is basically a warm up game and the coaching staff wants to get a good look at both of them. Against Penn State I think if one gets hot you stay with them.

Yeah, this is a glorified warm-up for the QB's and tam in general, I guess.
