55-51 Tide Wins   Final

Ugly, ugly game & win, especially at the end.
Translation:  Bama nearly blew an 8 point lead in the final minute, unable to get the ball in bounds.

But a win is a win.  A road win in the SEC, missing the team's best shooter and a second guard, is nothing to sneeze at.  Congrats to the players on the court tonight.

LSU nearly beat Kentucky.  They had an opportunity to at least tie the game at the end, with 16 seconds left, but a long pass slightly overthrew a wide open player down the court, and he had to pass the ball back instead of making an easy layup.  LSU could't find a quality shot after that.

Funny but very accurate.

I was worried for a while there that it might turn into another "Miracle Minute" game.*

* In 2001, Duke was down by 10 points to Maryland with 60 seconds left. They stole a few inbounds passes, hit 3s, and won the game.

Well, I decided to watch the game. What a slop-fest. The announcers called it right, somewhere in the first half; "Both teams are offensively challenged". He was just being nice. Very glad Bama won, but it was another painful game to watch.

That's the best description I have heard for the Tide game & season in general.

Wins on the road are hard to get especially in league play. It was ugly but it was a win and we need wins anyway we can get them. I hope we can build a little momentum. We have games coming up against Vandy, @ Auburn, UGA, USC, and @ Vandy. All of those games are winnable.

Shannon Hale is starting to play like we hoped he would this year. If we can get Tarrant back we are not an easy game for anyone left on our schedule.

As of today our RPI is 61. That is respectable but not good enough for an NCAA bid. We just need to win regardless of how ugly it may be.
