Click here for linkAs Ha Ha Clinton-Dix took the stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall a few weeks ago to shake hands with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, best friend Dee Hart was right there in his best friend’s cheering section.
“We’ve always been tight. That’s my boy. We’re tight right now … like this,” Clinton-Dix said of Hart, interlocking his middle and index fingers to show his unity with his best friend. “He just got in with the wrong crowd there for a while and made some mistakes, you know, like we all do growing up.
“He’s fine though and he’ll be back. He’s graduating. He did that in three-and-a-half years. That’s hard. I haven’t even graduated yet. A lot of us haven’t. That’s pretty impressive right there.”
“Right now I have a lot of different options and we’re talking to a lot of people, but I don’t really know where I’ll end up,” Hart said.
Rumors have swirled that he could end up at UCF, although the Knights have not publicly acknowledged any conversations. The running back simply said anything was possible and did not count UCF out of the mix, but the Knights would likely have trouble finding scholarship room.
With his degree secured at Alabama, Hart will be eligible immediately at any other school. Colorado State is another school often mentioned as a possible landing spot.
As for the charges from the February incident, Hart said the issues have been resolved.
“Yeah, I made some mistakes and stuff but that’s all taken care of and cleared up now,” said Hart, who did not have anything negative to say about Alabama or Nick Saban and his coaching staff, even though the school released him from the team at the completion of the season.
“Coach Saban is the best. He’s helped me get things straightened out, helped me with a lot of different things. He’s the best coach ever. I owe a lot to him. Alabama was good to me,” said Hart.
Looks like there were some definite issues with Dee. Work ethic was never one of them, though. I'm glad he's graduating and glad he'll get another shot with another program. I wish Dee the best of luck.
