There is some very interesting information concerning the new SEC network for us fans. Please read and pass along to your friends that like SEC sports, especially those that live in other parts of the USA.

And, while you are pondering that question, you need to realize that all of the events I just noted are games that will not air on CBS, any of ESPN's other platforms, or any of the league's other sister networks. And you also need to know that, without the SEC Network, you will not have access to those events via wireless devices.
This is the bottom line.  I preferred watching "SEC Network" games on free local networks, but I will probably shell out the money, although maybe not if there are no Bama games, which seems a possibility.

This SEC Network appears to be good for the SEC members and bad for the fans. I am on Charter cable. Right now they are not committed to carry the SEC Network. I am sure they will add it to another premium tier that will make my cable cost increase.

I am looking forward to seeing more baseball, softball and gymnastics but basketball and football games are almost 100% covered now.

This is just another case of the rich getting richer at the expense of the fans.

Free? What is your monthly bill for access to ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Sports, CSS and the other cable stations that carry SEC Sports? Charter is expensive already. Due to the SEC Network is is going to be more expensive.

If it was the Crimson Tide Network (like Longhorn Network) then I might shell out the money for it. SEC Network won't give me enough Bama games to make it cost effective for me right now.

I do not know what the cost will be but I am expecting about $10/mo for a premium channel fee from the cable provider. I hope it is no more than that.

I expect them to use the same tactics ESPN did when they launched ESPN2. They put enough big games on so the avid fan has to have it.

Well the Simpsons is free.  And the local networks that were showing the SEC Game of the Week were free.

The SEC Network likely will be part of DirectTV's SportsPac, which is an additional $14 per month.
