Alabama's Landon Collins says he views LSU game like any other: 'Another opportunity to be great'

Collins will be looking to add to those totals against an LSU team chock full of players he's known for years. Collins ran into one of them, Tigers freshman cornerback Dwayne Thomas, at his little brother's high school game during the bye week.

"We were just talking about the defense," he said. "He told me that on punt, when we were punting the ball, he said, ‘Guess who’s going to be in front of you?’ I said, ‘Who?’ He said, ‘Me.’ I said, ‘all right.’ I said ‘that’s what’s up.’ He said ‘I’m sticking you, too.’ I said, ‘OK, we’ll see.’"

This matchup will be fun to watch, if we ever punt!.

Landon will be a very special player for us. I met and talked to his dad for just a minute at the hotel I was staying at in Meridian after the Tenn. Game. Super nice guy. This will be a big match up for our defense this week.

Good morning, Peewee.  Funny, we all saw Landon's mother at his signing ceremony, but little was written about his father.  Glad to hear he's a "nice guy".

Now that Vinnie's out for the year, we need Landon to be a leader back there!

I think Landon does a great job on special teams as well. This is one phase of the game that Bama really needs to control this Saturday, make LSU start from the deep end of the field and not from the middle of the field on their possessions.
