The NCAA is set to adopt new legislation that will make head coaches in football and basketball directly responsible when members of their staffs commit rules violations, USA Today reported Thursday.

According to a nine-page document obtained by USA Today, the NCAA will unveil a four-tier penalty structure for head coaches, the most serious of which could result in a season-long suspension.

I think it is fair. Too often a school gets in trouble and a low level scape goat takes the blame. The HC should be responsible for his staff IMO.

Agreed. HC has to be in control of his staff at all times, should be one of things that is automatic for them to be able to do. CNS gets flack for being dictatorial with his staff, but let's face it, fewer problems that way than when the inmates run the asylum.

Bingo & Bingo!! I am sick of hearing someone making millions of dollars a year, then claim they did not know what was going on all around them. That includes CEO's & coaches.
