At full strength - with veteran forwards JaMychal Green and Tony Mitchell - Alabama isn't as good as some people want to believe.

The Crimson Tide, after all, lost consecutively to Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and South Carolina - the lowly Gamecocks - when they were at full strength.

At less than full strength - without Green and Mitchell - Alabama isn't as bad as some people want to believe.

Some people want to write this team off every time it loses. Hold that call to the coroner. This team not only has a pulse. Thanks to suffocating defense that is coach Anthony Grant's signature, the Tide has a strong heartbeat.

Imagine what happens if Engstrom can play 33 minutes with 13 points & 13 rebounds a game, with the guards & forwards we have.

If I had to pick a most improved player on the team it would be Engstrom. No other player plays any harder than he does, he is constanly trying to set screens or picks for the other players to give them shots and has finally learned to use both hands when he is rebounding. He still makes some mistakes, but he is also still learning how to play the game.  see a brighter future for him in the games to come.

Engstrom needs MUCH work.  His high picks were one key to the win over UT, but many of them were sloppy and should have been called fouls.  He doesn't set himself well on a pick, and his feet are slow.

Yes, he is improved, but he needs to improve much more to contribute effectively.

He needs improvement, but his improvement from the first few games of the season till  now is pretty incredible. Another offseason of practice and a full season of play next year and he could be a real force under the basket. Same goes for Gueye, he could be a real defensive force under the basket with his shot blocking, but I think Engstrom has progressed more.
