Quarterback AJ McCarron was 23 of 34 for 234. Running back Trent Richardson had 20 carries for 96 yards, and caught 2 passes for 11 yards.
Kicker Jeremy Shelley put the Tide's first 15 points on the board with five field goals, a record for BCS bowl games. His seven attempts also qualify for an all-bowl record.
