No. 2 Alabama softball sweeps No. 1 Georgia in three games
TUSCALOOSA -- Alabama is the No. 2 softball team in the country.
After a three-game sweep of top-ranked Georgia, it made its case for No. 1.
The Crimson Tide finished off the Bulldogs with a 9-5 win Sunday after wins of 2-1 on Friday and 6-4 Saturday. Now the Tide will travel for a midweek doubleheader Tuesday at Tennessee.
It was the first time Alabama had swept a No. 1 opponent in a three-game series in the program's 15-year history. The only other opportunity to do so was against then-No. 1 Arizona in 2002, which the Wildcats swept.
