Michael Thompson, former Bama golfer is leading The McGladrey Classic by one stroke going into the final round today. Thompson stands at -13 followed by Billy Horschel at -12.

Bud Cauley, another former Bama golfer, who is hoping for a good tournament this week is tied for 33rd at -4. If Cauley can maintain or improve his position today he has a good chance of earning his tour card without having to qualify through tournament play for it. This is a rare feat to accomplish with only a few golfers to ever have this.

Bud Cauley is now at -7 through nine holes tied for 14th place, things are looking very good for him as far as his exemption for his tour card is concerned.

Cauley made the cut so he will get a decent payday. If he can finish top 20 he will be solid in the top 125 and eard his card without going to Q School.

Good to see Thompson is still playing well.

Thompson had a bogey on 18 to finish in 3rd place. Bud Cauley finished in a tie for 15th. Both of these young men will earn a nice check this week.

Thompson kept his card also, finishing about 90th in the money.

Amazing what Cauley was able to do considering he just played 7 tourneys.  Four top 25s in seven tourneys ain't half bad.
