1.  Arkansas gave the game away to T A&M.  I don't think UA has the passing game to keep teams off of their running game.  T A&M, I don't think Kenny Hill likes to be hit and he sure is not as allusive a Johnny Clipboard.  They also got away with a false start on the overtime play.
2.  Ole Miss has a good defense, but Wallace keeps making mistakes like the past.  It may be that Memphis is better than I thought.
3.  South Carolina gave their game away also.   I was watching off and on and it looked like they stopped bringing pressure.  I think this will be the last year for the DC of USC.
4.  AU didn't watch, no interest.
5.  If Bama eliminated their mistakes, I don't see a team that can beat them.
6.  I am so glad Bama does not do that stupid "hold me back coming out of the tunnel".

Feel free to add your observations.

Good tune up for next week.

Coach, I watched the last quarter and OT of the Arky game, and all of the USCe game. They both gave it away, about in the same fashion. It was difficult to watch, because you knew what the outcome was going to be.

1.  Totally agree. Arkansas got conservative and tentative in the late 3rd and into 4th quarter. It cost them the game. A&M was exposed by Arky as not being the unstoppable team everyone thought they were. Just shows how bad the USC defense was.

2.  Ole Miss D improved but not deep and could be worn down by 4th quarter. Bo Wallace seems overrated to me.

3.  For the DC, it's either a bad year or he was working with players who were developed by the previous DC. He had a decent year in 2012 & 2013, but not dominating. Interesting info about him.

The Hokies led the nation in total defense, were third in pass defense and second in pass efficiency defense in 2005.

4.  LOL!!  Auburn struggled against La. Tech until late in the 3rd quarter.

5.  It's still too early to know how good anyone is. I think we won't have a good idea until after the 8th game of the season. That goes for all of the teams, like Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, UCLA, Oklahoma, Georgia, A&M, etc.

6.  BINGO!!!

So glad you wrote this coach!  I spent yesterday afternoon checking about once an hour to see if you'd posted anything.  It just isn't a Sunday in football season if I don't hear from you!  Applause E-Cred

So HScoach, What do you think will be the gameplan for Ole Miss?

Do you see our D trying to bring pressure, OM doesn't really have a run game.
Do you think we try screens because of the pressure you know Ole Miss will bring?

Is Ole miss stout enough to stop our run on the edges?

Remember those long runs by Driskel last week?  Bo Wallace makes a living doing that.
Someone will have to shadow him, or at least stay at home as LBs.

Also glad that Bama players don't turn to urge more noise from their fans.  Or at least I don't think I've seen that.

I think the gameplan will be similar to the one used against UF.  I think their run game will consist of the short passing game, screens (wide rec) and some misdirection.  I don't know if BW can hold up in the running game.  If Bama can get pressure with 4 like UF then they will be in good shape.  I can see BW throwing an int and maybe even fumble if Bama can put hits on him.

They have a very good run defense.  I would not be surprise to see the wide rec screen return and make those guys run side line to side line.  This will be a great test for the OL.  A win against Bama gives the OM program some legitamacy.  I think Bama has more depth on both sides of the ball.
