1. Arkansas gave the game away to T A&M. I don't think UA has the passing game to keep teams off of their running game. T A&M, I don't think Kenny Hill likes to be hit and he sure is not as allusive a Johnny Clipboard. They also got away with a false start on the overtime play.
2. Ole Miss has a good defense, but Wallace keeps making mistakes like the past. It may be that Memphis is better than I thought.
3. South Carolina gave their game away also. I was watching off and on and it looked like they stopped bringing pressure. I think this will be the last year for the DC of USC.
4. AU didn't watch, no interest.
5. If Bama eliminated their mistakes, I don't see a team that can beat them.
6. I am so glad Bama does not do that stupid "hold me back coming out of the tunnel".
Feel free to add your observations.
1. Totally agree. Arkansas got conservative and tentative in the late 3rd and into 4th quarter. It cost them the game. A&M was exposed by Arky as not being the unstoppable team everyone thought they were. Just shows how bad the USC defense was.
2. Ole Miss D improved but not deep and could be worn down by 4th quarter. Bo Wallace seems overrated to me.
3. For the DC, it's either a bad year or he was working with players who were developed by the previous DC. He had a decent year in 2012 & 2013, but not dominating. Interesting info about him.
A former player at Alabama, Ward coached the secondary under Frank Beamer at Virginia Tech for seven seasons from 1999-2005, with five of his players earning All-Big East honors and one making the All-ACC squad. The Hokies led the nation in total defense, were third in pass defense and second in pass efficiency defense in 2005.
Click here for link4. LOL!! Auburn struggled against La. Tech until late in the 3rd quarter.
5. It's still too early to know how good anyone is. I think we won't have a good idea until after the 8th game of the season. That goes for all of the teams, like Oregon, Alabama, Auburn, UCLA, Oklahoma, Georgia, A&M, etc.
6. BINGO!!!
