Florida must be really good. We put up our best score of the year 197.900 and UF puts up a 198.000. Those are the two best away from home scores in the NCAA this year. Bama has won four of their nation championships without winning the SEC so this is far from over. It looks like Bama and UF are the teams to beat in the NCAA championship.
After sitting in fourth place after two rotations, the No. 3 Alabama gymnastics team scored a season-best 197.900 to take second place at the Southeastern Conference Championships held at Verizon Arena in Little Rock, Ark., Saturday night, just a tenth of a point behind the No. 1 ranked Florida Gators.
"As a coach, I know our ladies are disappointed, but I couldn't be more proud more proud of them," UA head coach Sarah Patterson said. "I think if anything, this adds more fuel to the fire for our team as we continue into the championship season."
LSU took third with a 197.7 while Georgia posted a 197.625, making these championships the highest scoring in SEC history. Alabama and Florida's scores are the top two road totals in the country this year. Junior Kim Jacob led the way for the Tide with a career-best 39.475 in the all-around.
