I thought maybe some of you might want to change gears from the Penn State issue for a little bit and read something a little closer to home. I found it to be a little interesting so maybe some of you will as well.

-- Saban had a joke ready when he was asked to respond to these comments from South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Steve," Saban said. "I want to try to be like him, he's the winningest coach in the league. I want to wear a visor on the sidelines and throw it every now and then."

Good stuff, thanks for posting, J.

Great minds, eh?

It would be worth the price of admission to sit and listen to a conversation between those two.

People make light of Spurrier, but he's the 2nd best coach in the SEC and among the best in the country.  He has brought USCe to prominence, despite a poor recruiting base in his region.  They could be tough this year.  Look out, UGA!

If their running back can get healthy and stay healthy, they will be tough to beat.

Their QB grew up the last few games last year and should be solid this year. I think they have a good chance to beat out UGA for the East. WV might even give them the nod if none of their players are from Conway.

True.  Plus Stephen (unstable) Garcia is gone.  They'll play hard-nosed defense and cram-it-down-your-throat offense.  Tough team, tough game.
I'm ready for the season!

Well Spurrier won a Heisman and has won a National Championship. He has to be pretty good. I know when he was at Fla. is was a devious coach to me, because nobody could stop them year in and year out. I think CNS just says what he does to blindside CSS. lol, RTR!
