I fell asleep on the sofa watching it in the 12th. I woke up at 1:00 AM and got on the computer to see if we had won.

There was plenty of action in the 13th. Burrows, who has been out injured since March 4, came in to close out the game and walked the first three batters he faced before striking out the next three to end the game.

I read that in the article. Our pitching was either very good or wild throughout the game. There were 19 SO's, 12 where the Ga batters were caught looking. We recorded 9 BB's.

Robert Tyler for Georgia has no hit Bama through 8 innings. Georgia leads 3-0.

Salem denies the no hitter and a shutout with a solo homer in the 9th, but nowhere near enough. Georgia trounces Bama 7-1 in game 2.

I would say 'pitching', but last night it was fielding too.  We made it easy for UGA.

We ran up on a first round draft pick who was on top of his game last night. His fast ball was 93-99 MPH all game with a nasty off speed pitch.

We can win the series with a win in Game 3. This is a road series and they are hard to win.  Nick Eicholtz is on the mound for Bama.

Bama loses Game Three 12-4. Bama loses their first SEC series of the season. SEC record is 5-4 after 3 weeks. A very bad week going 1-3 including the Tuesday loss to the barn.

Alabama plays two against Alcorn State before going on the road to Lexington to play Kentucky. The road series at UK will be the 3rd road trip with only the UT series at home. We get 4 of our final 6 six series at home. Like most teams we are much better at home.

We have an experienced pitching staff but we are very young everywhere else. We start 3 freshman and 3 sophomores. We are hitting the ball hard for singles and doubles but lack home run power. I think we will finish this year about .500 in SEC play and go to an NCAA regional. The SEC currently has 8 teams ranked in the Top 18. A&M, Florida, Vandy and So Carolina are all in the Top 5.

IMO this is the best talent CMG has had since taking over for Jim Wells. I think we will have a good season but I do not expect to win a Regional much less a Super Regional. We are still a player or two away from being a very good team.
