Around Campus / The Quad / Re: POLL: Should we have a Politics Board?

Well guys, this one was a toss up. I will go ahead and put one up since the mods seem to support the idea. But if things get out of hand, we may have to shut it down later.
Having said that, I really don't see things getting out of hand with the group we have right now. This is by far the best group of people I have ever hung out with on a forum.
Now the only problem is we have to come up with a name. Does anybody know what building(s) are associated with the SGA on campus?
The Liars Hall? LOL +1 for that. I think I am going to go with the President's Mansion. It is not really a political building nor associated with student government, but it is a well know landmark on campus and it has the word "president" in it.

Around Campus / Rose Administration Building / New Graphics

I just turned on Phase 1 of the new graphics. While I am not 100% finished, it looks much better than what we have been using. It should resolve a lot of the technical issues that some people have seen. The front page is pretty much done for now, but there are still some blue panels and buttons within the forum. Hopefully I will get those swapped out pretty soon. If you see any issues let me know and I can flip the switch to go back to the old theme. I can even do it on a per member basis if only one or two people are having problems.
Thanks.

The bleeding over issue should be resolved now with the new graphics. You should not need compatibility view any more. It should work on any screen size and will show a horizontal scroll bar if the screen is below 1024 x 768.
I am going to turn off the sticky on this topic now. If you see any other problems please let me know.
Thanks.

Okay, here we go. The guy whose table was next to mine at the gun show walked up to introduce himself this morning; he was wearing an Alabama cap. I shook his hand, gave a "Roll Tide", and he smiled. I told him I was an Alabama graduate, and he started asking about when and whether I met Coach Bryant. I knew it'd be a good day. We chatted for a few minutes, then he said, "Ever heard of Junior Davis?" I admitted it didn't sound familiar. Then he said, "Sit down a minute," and he told me a story. He went hunting last year with his neighbor (from Memphis). They drove to the dove field, in Alabama where they met some other hunters. He was introduced to a fellow in his 60s. "Say hello to Junior Davis", his neighbor said. Over the next few hours they had a great time talking Alabama football. Junior Davis played at Alabama during the middle 1960s, with Kenny Stabler, Billy Scroggins, Mike Ford, Mike Hall, etc. It was the glory days. Get this. Junior Davis was a tackle: 6'2" and 215 pounds (as a senior in 1968). They had a great time, then exchanged business cards. In a few days my friend said he received a package from Junior. It was an envelope with a print of Coach Bryant, apparently signed by him during ~1982. He said the autographed prints were kept from the public for years, because the Bryant family wasn't happy with the likeness. Finally Paul Junior released them a while back. My friend said there were numerous autographs on his print, including many players from the old Alabama teams, and one he couldn't make out. He showed it to his wife. "That's Nick Saban," she said, smacking him on the forehead. Indeed it was. My friend said he had it framed, and it's in his den. He beamed as he told me about it. Not a bad day of Alabama football for Southaven, MS, huh? Well? Wow, no telling what he could get for it. Except he'll never let go of it. Are you sure? I will give him 10 million E-Cred.
