TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - As is its weekly routine, Alabama has the pads on today. They'll be popping near the end of practice when the offense and defense clash. The second-ranked Crimson Tide (2-0) is preparing for its third game of the season. North Texas (0-2) visits Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. Kickoff time is 6:38 p.m. The game will be televised by Fox Sports South.


News of the day

Junior offensive lineman Barrett Jones continues to work at left tackle. He played nearly the entire game against Penn State in that spot. It will be interesting to see if he stays there Saturday or if he moves to guard (or center) when freshman backup Cyrus Kouandjio comes off the bench. Kouandjio only appeared in the last minute or two at Penn State. The beauty of playing a team such as North Texas is the opportunity to develop depth. The second-team line, by the way, appears to be Cyrus Kouandji at left tackle and his brother, Arie, at right tackle. Alfred McCullough is the left guard, John Michael Boswell is the right guard and Kellen Williams is the center. Williams' left foot still is heavily bandaged from a preseason injury.

I like the look of this. Can you imagine somebody trying to come through either tackle and the middle looks dangerous also. Our future is so bright I see 10 wins or more for the next 5 yrs probably 1 NC Wins in that time. RTR!

Good to hear that Arie has come back and retaken the 2nd string job after his knee injury at the 2nd scrimmage.
