Also ESPN's quick note/eval:
Alabama has picked up a Class of 2012 commitment from Ryan Anderson, a defensive end/linebacker from Daphne HS (Daphne, Ala.).
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Anderson chose the Tide over Illinois, Kentucky, Memphis, South Alabama, South Florida, Tennessee and Alabama-Birmingham.
ESPN's Craig Haubert said of the news, "Alabama got a verbal from Ryan Anderson a defender we like on tape. Watching Anderson play, it is easy to see that the Crimson Tide are getting a physical football player as he plays with an aggressive and punishing nature."
"He has good size coupled with good speed and a motor that helps make him dangerous and productive in pursuit. He could start out and play the hybrid linebacker position for Alabama but could also potentially develop into a five-technique for them as well. He is tough to block as he can play with bend and is violent with his hands. He also shows flashes as a pass rusher, but this one area where it seems he could use a little more method to his madness. Anderson is a good football player and tough kid and we feel is a nice pick-up for Alabama?s front seven."
Anderson had 75 tackles, 14.5 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and one interception as a junior.
Click here for linkKinda upsetting though that T.J. Yeldon didn't show with him, he went to AU instead?!?!?!?!? RA told he had NO IDEA why, they were even talking a few days ago about how excited both were about coming in. AU is at it again
