Howdy folks.  I'm back home from a weekend in 2'sville with the boys.  It was great getting to see 2 again and meeting his old friend too.  The fishing was absolutely GREAT!  The biting wasn't so good though.  When the boys and I got to the beach 2 and his buddy Darryl had one Pompano in the cooler and had hooked a few catfish (trash fish from salt water).  As we were getting set up they hooked another catfish. Other fishermen around us were catching fish including one big old fat guy that came in after we did.  He managed to catch two Red Drums that measured 29" and "31."   Can't keep them over 27" so they both went back in.  After 2 and D left we stayed and fished for 2 or 3 more hours then went to find some food for us.  We eventually wound up back at the same beach around 5 p.m. with plans to fish until dark.  We threw out our lines and the boys went into the water to enjoy that.  I sat there for the next couple of hours watching the poles.  Then, when it was finally time to reel in and leave I started closing up shop while the boys sat around drying off.  All of a sudden the pole farthest from me took a bow.  Runt took off and grabbed it and reeled in a nice size Pompano.  The only fish we caught all day but that's why it's called "fishing" and not "catching."  Both boys really enjoyed their first trip to Pensacola and we are hoping to go down again in the summer to hopefully go out on a boat.

The drive home yesterday was good and I was thankful that we had good weather the entire weekend.  Sorry 2. I know you needed the rain...   Safe travels when you go back up to SC...
