The guessing game is going crazy.

The biggest question in coaching circles right now: How good of a job is South Carolina?

Thanks to Lou Holtz and Steve Spurrier, it's pretty good. Holtz scrubbed the program, got it some nice clothes and made it presentable at social gatherings. Spurrier gave it a recommendation at the local country club.

Will Muschamp, Auburn defensive coordinator: You can look at this two ways … Muschamp laid the foundation for what is happening at Florida under Jim McElwain. Or it would be hard for him to get the South Carolina job with Auburn being (arguably) the biggest disappointment of the season? Actually, both are in play. Muschamp wants to be a head coach again. It's probably too soon at South Carolina at the moment.

Kirby Smart, Alabama defensive coordinator: For those of you assuming Smart will slide over when Nick Saban retires, consider that Saban, who turns 64 on Halloween, is energized enough to go until he's 70. Smart, only 39, goes to his starter job at South Carolina and returns the conquering hero to Tuscaloosa -- with head coaching experience!

Hate to say it but, KS is a very viable candidate. Everyone wants a Saban protégé.

Carolina ain't that good a coaching stop if you ask me. I think you are setting yourself up for failure. I suggest going to a place like East Carolina, Wyoming, N.C. State, or other location that doesn't have you playing the likes of LSU, A&M, Georgia, etc.

If I'm an AD, Fuentes is the top of my wish list. I don't see him going to USC west, maybe Carolina or Miami.
