It was a great setting for the team today with a packed house, but it was just too much Kentucky and they are as good as they have been labeled. Bama has what I consider to be 2-3 pretty good players, the others are good players. Kentucky has 10 very good players and 5 pretty good players so there is a contrasting difference in the make up of the two teams. I consider Kentucky's basketball team to Bama the same as Bama's football to Kentucky. I would like to think that Bama just had a bad day but that wasn't the case at all, Kentucky was hitting on all cylinders.

Bama's schedule doesn't get any easier as they have to go to Arkansas next and Arkansas has been playing pretty good basketball. I'm just hoping the team can erase this game from their minds and get ready for the Razorbacks or they will get another spanking just as bad as this one today.

Yeah, I looked at the schedule and thought the same thing. Arkansas is very, very tough at home. This is a major test for the Tide. Someone has to step up & provide support for Tarrant & Levi. Something has happened to Shannon Hale this year & he has been a total non-factor all year.

 Huh?

I said the same thing on an earlier thread about him. There is very little about his game that has helped the team this year. When he's on the court he plays like a very green freshman that is lacking the skills to be a starter.

Arkansas is an average team on the road but very good at home. It will be a tough road trip for us. At the beginning of the SEC season I thought we would be exactly where we are. We have a lot of wins left on our schedule and we can still reach our goals.

I agree with the comments about Shannon Hale. I cringe when he stands at the top of the key looking for a 3 point shot. He is a 20% 3 point shooter. I would rather him shoot 12-15 foot jump shots. At 6-8 he needs to get in the paint, fight for position and rebound.

I think Cooper is having a solid year to go along with Randolph and Tarrant.

I didn't get to see the game the day they played so I am watching the replay.  I agree with one poster that Bama looks hesitant to take shots.  Two, it seems to me the officials allow UK to play more aggressive than than Bama, in other words they get the benefit of foul calls.  Finally, the big/deep team of UK is too much for Bama.

I felt the same way but I didn't want to sound like a cry baby. Kentucky was the better team but I think some of the calls/no calls made the game a little worse than it might have been. The refs remind me of umpires, you put a good pitcher on the mound and he gets a lot of called strikes that the average pitcher never gets and the same goes for the better basketball teams with the foul calling.

Jimmie Taylor did not stand a chance. The UK bigs would root him right under the basket with hard offensive fouls that were never called. If he tried to stand his ground they blew the whistle fast. UK is good enough they do not need the refs help.

I said in a post recently that college basketball officiating makes me sick. Home teams get all the calls unless UK, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, etc are playing. It is not close to being fair.

I agree with all the above.  I thought KY bigs were mauling Bama under the basket.  Not that it would have made a difference in the game, KY didn't need the refs help, but it was pretty bad.
