She had a few hurricane's too many at Pat O'Brien's before the game. I had a date like that once. There was not a second date.

They should not allow you into the game unless you can pass a breathalyzer test.

This is New Orleans you're talking about?

Laughing

Ticket prices would go way down too.  Smiley  You could just stand outside the gate and watch for the next person to fail the test, then trade them a bottle of Jim Beam for the ticket they can't use.

I know you're joking but I don't think they should sell beer at a sporting event. You go to a stadium to see a football or baseball game, not see a drunken idiot act foolish or spill beer on you or someone else.

They serve alcohol at these games; she probably got drunk at the stadium.

They do arrest obviously intoxicated persons trying to enter the stadium in Tuscaloosa, at least if they draw attention to themselves.

It's probably more than beer being sold.  I noticed in Nashville they they had full bars with several kinds of liquor.  That woman doesn't look like she has been drinking beer -- she's liquored up and itching for a fight.

I did not know they sold alcohol at the college games.  Therein lies the problem.

I think it depends on the college. When I was at Bama in the late 1990s, you couldn't purchase alcohol. At South Alabama, though, I could get a beer at basketball games.

In theory, I don't have a problem with purchasing alcohol at games, but I think that much of problem lies in vendors who don't always follow the rules for how much a fan is allowed to have. Throw into the mix that many start drinking before they get into the gates, and are then allowed to purchase more inside, and you have a recipe for a problem. I don't think that keeping alcohol out is the solution; I personally have been to a few Orioles games, and I love kicking back during a summer game and having a cold beer. Unfortunately there are just not enough people out there who can police themselves.

The worst game I have ever been to was when we played FSU in Jacksonville in 2007.  My miserable experience had little to do with the final score.  Since that stadium is a pro stadium, alcohol was sold at the game, which I didn't realize would be allowed at that game.  We had our small kids with us, and we were absolutely miserable with the hostility and language around us and the beer being spilled on us.  I know you get that kind of thing even at games at Bryant-Denny because of the smuggling of alcohol and some peoples' personalities, but at the game in Jacksonville it was many times greater than any other game I've ever been to.  It's really sad to me that people can't take their families to see a sporting event because of a bar-like atmosphere.

South Alabama sold beer at basketball games?  That's one I didn't know.

It may depend on the venue.  It is illegal to sell alcohol on Alabama State property (except ABC stores).  Did South Alabama play in a private stadium?

At Bryant-Denny, you can have alcohol (without sneaking it) in the stadium if you pay for the privilege, and if you bring it in before gameday.  In the Zone, located in the North and South End Zones, members are assigned a locker where they can keep personal items, including alcohol.  There even is a "pouring room," separate from the public, complete with mixers, lemon/lime slices, glasses and ice.  There appeared to be a bartender as well, but I didn't check into it in great detail.  Members with skyboxes also are permitted to have alcohol in their skybox.

You see alcohol sales at bowl games because they're in pro stadiums.  They had alcohol at the Bama v. Michigan game, both times I attended.  Some college stadiums have alcohol sales as a revenue booster, but the SEC doesn't permit it.  Apparently, 22 of the 120 major college stadiums have alcohol sales, with Minnesota, Syracuse and West Virginia being the most prominent.  Click here for link

I feel your pain. I been saying this to a lot of people and it falls on death ears. How could someone take their kids out to a venue and they hear all the stuff you all did? This becoming a nation so weak they can't stand for themselves. RTR!
