A secondary that was already missing defensive back Jarrick Williams (foot) will be without starting free safety Nick Perry for next week's first half. Perry was ejected during Saturday's third quarter for targeting and, per NCAA rules, will be forced to sit out the equivalent of a full game.

Cornerback Eddie Jackson missed most of the second half with a quadriceps injury but isn't expected to be sidelined next week.

Strong safety Landon Collins said he anticipates junior Geno Smith, who has been a regular at Star in Alabama's nickel and dime defenses, to fill Perry's spot.

"He's going to be that free safety back there with me and take on that role and make the calls and make the plays he needs to make," Collins said...

We're getting thin at DB positions.

Fortunately Florida doesn't have a great passing attack and we have a week off before UM.

Well we have done just enough to win so far and I am not displeased. I have a feeling that we have shown no where near what we have to use. Our running game has shown to me that run left or right and throw short passes. I wonder why, is it that cunning fox we have for a coach has saved and saved to get ready for the SEC run? It would not surprise me at all. JMHO. RTR!

Yeah, so that call was junk.

Nick had his head in front of the WR's chest.

The the UF game where the kid gets nailed on the ground.  Nothing.

At least they added in the overturn option.  I still cannot believe they created a rule where a penalty was issued regardless of whether you deserved the penalty.

I guess it is an improvement to get only half of a penalty that you do not deserve rather than a whole penalty you do not deserve?

Feel free to correct me.

Have a great week.

I think it was a legitimate call.  Besides, he had the opportunity to pull up, but he decided to lower the boom instead.  You could see by his facial expression that he knew he screwed up as soon as he did it.

One problem I have is the actions of the rec.  Many times they lower their head and bring it into when the hit is about to occur.

I don't know if you guys have noticed, but TB has been getting some quality reps in the second half of games when the teams must throw the ball.  Up to this point he has looked pretty good.

It was good to see him in there. I hope he continues to get PT. He is going to be the real deal.

I would have to look back, but I don't think he has had a ball completed on his side.  He doesn't seem to be afraid of contact either.
