Good morning folks.  We are supposed to get rain off and on through the day.  If anyone needs me I'll be 50' up in a bucket lift taking down a 50+ year old Pecan tree that is threatening to fall on Dad's house.  We rented the lift for the weekend and I used it yesterday to pressure wash the front of our garage.

Be sure it sits on firm ground or pavement!!

2 I sure hope and pray Mrs 2 don't do any damage to that back. Please ask her to be careful that is one thing you never get back, Mrs Dottie and I both know about that. NALT yall be careful them old pecan trees are some hard whippersnappers. I hope everybody has a great day no rain here so far last few days. Try to do some weed eating today and maybe get some rest in. We are one Chechem vacation and a month away from football so it is near. RTR!

Good Friday morning!

We finally got our new bed yesterday, and it is divine! Best night's sleep I've had since before the surgery. I hated to get up, but I have to get my walk in before it get's too hot, or rains, whichever comes first.

Hey 2, you should of requested this to avoid germs during surgery:

Don't think so, OT. My surgeon appeared a little light in the loafers as it was.  Laughing

"Light in the loafers."  I'll have to remember that one.   Laughing

Yeah, I'd rather have the germs.  Of course, bedside nurses might qualify.

Good morning, gang.  Coffee

Finally got most everything unpacked from the trip; found a few things I forgot I'd packed!

I spent most of yesterday at my friend's farm.  We installed an air conditioner in his "guest trailer", then ate fresh vegetables from his garden: tomato sandwiches, cucumbers, and salad.  Fun time.

It rained HARD last night: 3/4" total.  We needed it.  First rain since I got home.  Of course, now I need to mow again.  Ugh.

Hope to see pics of 2's fishing adventure.  Sounds like a fun day at the beach!

Have a good day.

Raining here again. So what else is new?

No pics from fishing yesterday. Nothing we caught was pic-worthy. 3 sea cats, 2 Jack Crevalles and a baby ling. No keepers, but it was great being able to reel them in. Will be playing golf next weekend.  Dancing

I hope y'all have a great Sunday!

Good morning folks.  We had to dodge the storms twice yesterday while working on the pecan tree.  Fortunately the first one was at lunchtime so it didn't impact us all that much. Most of the work went as planned and I was able to get it on the ground safely.  I did have one large trunk that as we were lowering it to the ground I got down from the lift and tried to push it over away from a Japanese Maple that my mom planted years ago the weight shifted and it swung around.  It hit me in the outside of my left knee buckling it.  Fortunately it buckled forward (natural direction) so the damage is minimal.  I think I just bruised it.  I took two Aleve and rubbed a good layer of Biofreeze on it before going to bed.  I also put a small pillow under it.  When I woke up this morning the pain was gone.  After being up on my feet for a few minutes this morning I do have some slight pain returning but it isn't too uncomfortable.  Good outcome to a potentially horrible situation...  Preacher, I do believe that God looks out for us and takes good care of us... Even my middle son told me last night as he was going to bed, "Dad, I'm going to pray for you tonight."  Makes my heart swell...

NALT I believe you are right as rain. People don't understand nothing in this world happens without God's knowledge of it, it don't catch off guard. Glad to hear what your son said. Well Chechem getting home and helping a friend is a great way to start the day. I'm looking forward to the day we all hear 2 say he is on his gold course again. Looks rain here this morning but it will be what it is. RTR!

Glad you and LF made it home okay. I don't have to ask how was your trip, the wonderful pics that you posted pretty much answers that question.

Morning All,

Hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for another championship year, it's just around the corner.

Mrs. J and I have been very busy of late dealing with buying a  new home and selling ours and it's not very much fun. There are way too many intangibles involved to take any of the fun out of it if there was supposed to be any in the first place. We have agreed on our new home and the young couple that we have been dealing with finally came by yesterday and we agreed on what it will take to buy our home. The couple just got rooked out of $40,000 on a previous deal to buy a lot to build on it and didn't go through a realtor. They paid for the lot and it wouldn't perk, no sewer lines in our area, and asked for their money back which the owner refused to do. It's good to either know the rules of real estate or go through a realtor. I know the guy that sold them the lot and I think much less of him now, he knew that lot wouldn't perk. Any way, they didn't want to go through a realtor to buy our place so I have a trusted friend in the Realty business who has been kind enough to steer us through all of this to make sure we don't have any hidden issues that must be done. I gave them a contact yesterday, provided by my good friend, to take to their bank tomorrow that should seal our deal that includes their earnest money. I also had a major water issue in our basement when we got all of that rain recently that I have been taking care of. I had to hire a foundation expert to come in and we are now getting that repaired with a system installed that should prevent that from happening anymore. Hopefully all of this will be done by the end of August.

Hope everyone has been doing ok or better. Pray Cheesy

Glad you are making progress, albeit with pains.  I'm eager to see your new property.

Good advice about realtors; sad and irritating nonetheless.  Greed is an ugly word.

We need to go fishing!!
