Have you ever seen a better gap control defense? Never in my wildest dreams did I think Fournette would be contained like he was. I have been around for some great Bama defenses, but don't know if I have seen any better DL/LB combination.

It's hard to judge this defense against past defenses because the offensive game has changed so much.  But yeah, this defense is elite.  Great job tonight.

They are good enough to win #16.

The LSU offense hasn't changed any. Run the ball & pass only when behind or in desparartion.

I was fully expecting Fournette to get 100 yards on us.  Even still, I expected us to win the game.  Just didn't think it would be as dominating as that...

Fournette averaged 1.5 ypc and 0.9 yards before contact.  LSU's offensive line was completely dominated.  And they're a team that has dominated everyone else on their schedule.  It was a good matchup for Bama, but yeah, awesome defensive effort by the Bama D.    Not only were the front 7 NFL ready, but I noticed the safeties played a key role in stopping the run as well.  As former CBs, there were questions raised about their size, were they up to the task, and they showed that they were in spades.

In pregame coverage, Geno Smith was asked about stopping Fournette, and he said they would have to use the tackling techniques they'd learned.  They wouldn't avoid contact; otherwise they might as well stay on the field and play offense too.

This. I thought we could beat them if we kept in around 110.

Awbran's defenders used the techniques they had learned too but we saw how that turned out for them...    Still not sure how hurdling 4nette was supposed to get him to the ground...  Huh?

I would love to see a montage video of the barner's trying to tackle (or hurdle) him combined with clips from our guys tackling him.
