Just made the whelping box, aka pen to hold the puppies in.

It's fairly well hidden secret that I have a soft spot for animals.

It's a longshot but not impossible. I remember a dog named Lassie (Collie, I think) hopping a freight train (boxcar) and going cross country. That was years ago, so don't press me for details.

If the little one is still alive, go to any of the pet stores and buy small bottles with a selection of nipples (comes in one pack)  and Esbilac for Puppies.  I bought both at Pet Depot.  P.S. none of the nipples had a hole in it so I took a big needle and made one.  Esbilac is great for puppies, kittens, rabbits, squirrels and flying squirrels.  I have used it on all of those except kittens (don't tend to find them in the wild) and they thrive.  Regular milk is a no no.  Animals are allergic to it.  It still might not make it but it's something to try.

I am currently raising a baby rabbit I almost stepped on in our path.  I have had him (or her) for three weeks as of today.  And it has turned from a cuddly little bunny into a pretty wild hare but he will let me pet him (but not pick him up).  We will keep him about 2 more weeks and release him back to the wild. I had to bottle feed him initially but now he is eating rabbit food, spinach and Esbilac mixed half and half with water.  He has tripled in size.

We have some little puppy nursing bottles and we're keeping her warm.  The girl is trying to save it.  If we can keep it alive until tomorrow we'll take her to the vet and see what they say.

Good luck to you.  She seems to be holding on so what you're doing seems to be working.   Hopefully, she just is too small to suck or to fight the other puppies for a space.  Some TLC may be just the thing.  Sounds like you are doing all the right things!
