Stray dog

She's a good girl.  Smart, good temperament, shy, someone has hurt her.

Maybe shepard or husky mix.  Free to good home as long as she stays alive.  I live on a busy road.

Trying to get her to hang out in the back by putting some food in the barn.

I expect she was tied to a tree somewhere and escaped, she let me get a collar on her but wont let me near it now to take it off or tie her up.

In 2001, I caught a stray dog (Rusty the beagle) and feed him for a couple of months. He was a young beagle and grew into a great hunting dog. After he got older, I didn't have a good place for a beagle so I gave hime to my dad. My dad, 79 years old, had 30 acres for Rusty to hunt and run. My Mother was in the nursing home, She had been sick since 1991. My dad lived alone at our old home and visited the nursing home everyday. The nursing home fed both of my parents three meals and each night my dad would leave the nursing home and drive the 2 miles home.

My dad died on 11-26-2004, the day after Thanksgiving. Since Rusty was by his self at  dad's house, I had to find him a home. Lucky one of my brothers workers took Rusty to take hunting. My Mother passed away on Janurary 21st 2005. 56 days after my dad..

She has the qualities of a herding dog.  Had to be really abused to run off but may have been dropped off at your place.  That happens often here.  Name her and keep her.  There's nothing like a good dog and you will be surprised what you learn from her.

As I told my hubby when he told me to leave the border collie puppy at the church steps: "You just might be leaving an angel on the steps of the church!".  Because of her and her illness we met some of the most wonderful people and had experiences that changed our lives forever.  That dog was his beloved KokoPuf.
