In 1961 Alabama had an outstanding team but the game was different. The players were smaller and not as strong and fast as in today's game. The good players played both offense and defense. They had to take the 5 yard penalty because the play resulted in a turn over. They could have taken the play if Teague didn't run him down and take the ball away.

He plays with torn ligaments in his foot, does his job without help. He holds his own against Nix so others can get their blocks. 4.0 grade average x2. Does mission work and helped clean up after tornado. I want my son to achieve Barrett Jones status.
Telson and Cooper. 2 freshman who went over 1000 yards. They are special players. The rose to every occasion. Eddie Lacey. Went for 1200+ yards. In SEC championship he carried the load. Last night was his best night, breaking tackles and running over ND. He will be missed. AJ. What a leader. He was outstanding leading this offense. CJ Mosley. He gave it his all in NCgame.
