Thanks for posting this.  Always good to know what the nat'l press is saying.  And in this case we have the support of at least one enlightened writer.

CAG stands tall from what I see. He did the right thing in the right way. When he builds a winner it will be CNS did, with class and it will continue to roll on forever. You must be accountable. RTR!

I support CAG and feel he is doing what he thinks is best for the team, university and the future of the Alabama basketball program. But it still stinks to throw away a season that had such high expectations. We should be ranked in the top 25 and sitting pretty for the NCAA tournament. I was enjoying this basketball season and now I feel like it is over.  Angry

I understand what you are saying pmull and as an avid fan that attends all the home games, I have watched this team self destruct as the season has moved along. We CRS members discussed this very thing many times and we all wondered what the heck was going on.

This past Saturday morning, CAG showed us what was going on, some of the players had abandoned his ship and was causing the ship to be in an SOS situation. As far as the team was concerned, the only way to keep his ship from sinking was to correct the problem, and he did. He sent 4 players home and sent a huge message to the remaining players, you can stay and we will make the repairs to keep our ship or you can go with the four back to Tuscaloosa and let the boat sink.

Just recently a cruise ship ran aground and partially sank, killing many of the passengers and what did the captain of the ship do for his passengers to save them, he abandoned ship and left them to die. CAG did not abandon his ship, he fixed the problem and now the ship is ready to sail again and be what it was intended to before all of the problems arose.

I couldn't be prouder of a coach at the University of Alabama, this is what us fans have been demanding from all of the coaches there for a long time, get rid of the trouble makers and make our school respectable again as it once was.

I will be there Saturday for the Tennessee game and will be cheering on this team as though they are undefeated and playing for a high ranking nationally, the players and coaches deserve that from the fans. I am very proud of this basketball team and the direction it is going, there will be better days ahead. Roll Tide!!!!

I don't think anyone is going to turn on Grant if we miss the tourney this year.  Yes, we'll be disappointed, but it's been clear for some time that this team wasn't going to live up to expectations.  I'd much rather see Grant establish what kind of program this is going to be than win at any cost, especially with so many young players on the roster.

I'm proud to have him as our coach.

Nice post Jamos.

CAG did what he had to do. The future of our program is in the outstanding freshman class and Releford. He can not allow Green and Mitchell to teach them bad habits. I expect CAG saw very good kids in Steele and Releford starting to act like them and it had to be stopped. I support CAG 100%.

I am frustrated with the ways things have gone but I am behind this team win or lose. Even if we don't win many more games my hope is that the team and players get better from this experience.
