4n = 3.60

Step 1.  Divide both sides by 4

4n/4 = 3.60/4

Now simplify.  On the left side the 4/4 equals 1 so you have 1 X n, or simply n.

n = 3.60/4

Now just simplify the right side by doing the division.  3.60/4 = 0.9 which leaves you with:

n = 0.9

Are you going to sit next to her during the test and whisper "B"?  What happens if they get tricky and rearrange the answers?

Give a girl the answer and she gets an A for the day.  Teach her to solve the problem and she gets an A for a lifetime.  And if she gets hungry you can give her a fish or something.  Or she can just buy a fish with all the money she will earn with her first class CRS education.  HTH

Just a wild ass guess but this sounded like a multiple choice situation as opposesd to a "show your work" type of question. Anyway, trhanks for going the extra mile to prove that YOU were not guessing.

Yes sir.  It was obvious (to me at least) that YOU were NOT guessing, and I didn't mean to imply otherwise.  All apologies.  Embarrassed

For a teacher who is paid to write math test, it seems it would occur to them to use:
A)
B)
C)
D)
rather than:
A.
B.
C.
D.
Because the period in the lettering may inadvertently be mistaken for .9 (as an example) as opposed to 9. MHO
