It was very hot in Williams Brice Stadium. That had a lot to do with both teams' D. It affected Mrs 2 to the point she had to go sit in the concession area for the rest of the game. She only saw half of the first quarter. My youngest daughter was with us, so I gave Mrs 2 my phone to call her if needed, and I checked on her regularly. She was ok, once she got out of the sun.

The stadium was on fire. The SC fans were raucous and the noise bothered Bama on many plays. My hat is off to the fans and their team for fighting hard and not giving up.

Henry, Smitty and Najee (as well as Tua) had a huge game. That 43 yard TD run by Najee was a thing of beauty.

Lots of sloppy play, though, especially with the penalties. Plenty of holding on both teams to go around, that weren't called.

That being said, a win is a win. Lots of youth on the defensive side of the ball. Like Chech said, we have some easy games coming up for them to gain experience. Lets hope for no more injuries and ROLL TIDE!!!

Why can't Bama run the ball through the OL? All our great runs came after passes. I worry about facing strong SEC defenses that know we almost have to pass.

True.  I don't know that we can get 2 yards at the goalline on a power run.  But we have linemen returning, so that should help.

Like Saban said, many of the passes were RPOs, so when Tua faced a 6-man line he simpy threw the short pass instead.

Hope Mrs 2 is okay this morning.  Heat like that can be dangerous.

Sloppy play was atypical of a Bama team.  We've got work to do.  Embarrassing that our D kept jumping offsides and helping USCe keep drives going.
