Do you really think he might take an offer after he has a new staff and getting his players like he wants them. RTR!

It's happened too many times before.  Not likely, but if he has a wife  it's possible.

Don't think the wife would choose Michigan, unless she likes cold.   He's from Wisconsin and they came from Buffalo, so they might end up hating Tuscaloosa summers unless they get a lake house.  His wife had/has an aggressive form of lymphoma, so a warm climate just might be the place for her.

Personally, I’m tired of this drama queen and his act.

I agree MD. It has been proven time and time again again it takes 5 guys to win games. This guy if he comes or not let's get ready for a great season with the people we have now. RTR!

What exactly has he done other than take time to make a life altering decision?  I've seen no prima donna type comments from him.  He's hardly spoken to to the media at all.

Update from CNO press meeting at SEC meetings in Destin.  You get the feeling that this guy is not messing around.  He knows how he wants his team to play and what kind of guys are needed to do it.

Good stuff, thanks for posting it.

Quote
Others who looked entered the transfer portal made strong decisions, Oats said.

“Shoot, I helped someone like Daniel Giddens, a great kid,” Oats said. “I helped him. Some guys left on good terms and some didn’t. But that’s decisions they make as young men. Some of them were smart decisions. They’ll have better playing time elsewhere where ever they want. Diante Wood, I think will get a lot more playing time and Daniel Giddens will. Those two kept participating in workouts even after we discussed that it might be better for them to go elsewhere and they thought so to.”

Wood, a freshman last year, will resume his career at Jacksonville while Giddens is headed to Vermont.

Great move by Wood. He played at Sacred Heart Catholic School located on the old Ft. McClellelan. I think they won 3 state championships with him. JSU is like 10-13 miles from Anniston. He will make a difference at JSU.

It didn't say JSU it said Jacksonville. Is that the one in Fla? I do like the speech of CNO about running the team though. RTR!

“People aren’t your greatest asset. The right people are your greatest asset.” - Jim Collins in Good to Great

Sounds like Oats Is making sure he’s got the right people in the right places. I think he’s going to do well here.

I hope Quinerly can get his waiver approved to allow him to play this year. I doubt it gets approved. I understand players that have graduated being able to transfer and play immediately but too many undergraduates are hopping in the transfer portal and applying for a wavier for no good reason. I am not aware of any good reason he has to have his waiver granted.
