Bama is actually leading a conference game on the road in Baton Rouge, leading 47-40 with 12:30 remaining.

Braxton Key is starting to come around.  He was pretty bad when he first came back from injury.  We are missing Hall, who is out for a couple weeks after having some type of minor hand surgery.

Cecil is calling it Freshman Week at Bama.  After we played 12 or so true freshmen in the NCG Monday night, we've had a line-up consisting of all freshmen on the floor tonight at various times.

LSU has tightened the game to within 6 with about 2:30 to go.  The refs are doing all they can for the home team as well.

Bama holds on for a 74-66 win.  LSU's coach got a T that hurt his team late, but should have been tossed.

Any conference win on the road is a big one.

Thanks HL. Nice to see them get a road win, especially against a pretty good team. LSU was 11-4 coming into this game.

Road wins are hard to get. LSU had won 5 of their last 6 and beat Arkansas on the road by 21 in their last game. This was a good win for the Tide.

We won without Hall playing. He missed the game due to a wrist injury he got in the South Carolina game.

Ingram had 18 pts and 10 boards. Sexton had 15 pts. We played 9 players and everyone scored at least 5 points except Giddens who had 2. We were 18-18 from the free throw line.

We out rebounded LSU 40-24. We had 12 offensive and 28 defensive boards to their 5/19.

When did we learn to shoot free throws?

One of the keys to this win was we got out on their shooters. LSU was the best percentage shooting team in the league and we limited them to 66 points. Getting out on the barn shooters on Tuesday will be equally important. They put up points in bunches and a lot of them come from the 3 point line.

Reading all that, it doesn't sound like the game should have been as close as it was.  LSU had a legitimate shot at a comeback before their coach went apey.  He "slammed" the scorer's table (according to Cecil Hurt) and should have been T'd up for that, then he made chest to chest contact with the ref that should have been an ejection.  He was lucky to wind up with only 1 T and still left on the floor.

I am glad to see us winning at BB for a change. The other guy would have lost this game. RTR!
