Alabama softball closed its fall schedule with a doubleheader Sunday against Auburn-Montgomery. The Crimson Tide posted a pair of shutouts, defeating the Warhawks 8-0 and 9-0.
Over its eight fall contests, Alabama outscored its opponents 77-8 including four-straight shutouts in its last four games. A six-run third inning provided the bulk of the Tide's scoring in game one Sunday, while run production was spread more evenly in the six-inning win in game two. In the circle, freshman Madison Preston threw 5.0 shutout innings in game one with four strikeouts, allowing just six baserunners. In game two, junior Courtney Gettins allowed just one baserunner over 6.0 innings pitched, striking out six.
