I'm sure an 18 year old kid would never think twice about contradicting his head coach and coordinator.

  :eyeball:

And I'm sure that immediately after the game before the press came in the locker the whole team got together with the coaching staff and concocted a story to protect the outgoing OC.

Was the whole team interviewed and say the same thing to reporters? Like I said, the excuse seems a little too convenient since this is he 2nd time we get some excuse for bad play calling. It's the nature of my past jobs to be cynical about such stories.

Yeah, and as I recall, when Coach Saban brought Kiffin in you were one of the more vocal opponents of doing so.  I argued that we needed to trust Coach Saban's decision and again you were skeptical.  How did that turn out?  Coach Saban still has my full trust and if he says that UW was focusing on stopping our run then that's good enough for me as a "REASON" (not an excuse mind you) for trying to change up some of the play calls, even calling a "vanilla" offensive attack.

I don't remember my posts about Kiffin being hired, but if you can show me those posts I would appreciate it. I do remember being VERY loud about the signing of Jonathan Taylor. How did Saban's "judgement" on the woman beater work out? Like I have said before, he's just a man and can be wrong.

Kiffin was fairly predictable in his play calling, and I had to wonder if he is coaching with one foot out the door...
Make that both feet (and dodging the door from behind).

I'm pretty sure he was distracted trying to do 2 jobs at the same time, which is what Saban said in so many words.

Kirby handled it just fine last year, going to a much more demanding job. I think Kiffin didn't want to be here anymore.

Kirby's defense was bailed out by the offense and special teams last year. We out scored Clemson. Defense almost cost us that game.

Yeah, but it's not like the defense was lost or appeared unprepared in that game. Watson was playing on another level. His first two touchdown passes were perfectly thrown balls to well-covered receivers.
