Replacement?  Next man up, let's go.

My only concern is the NCAA aspect of whatever happened.

Wow. We have taken a major hit, just hope another one is not coming.

 Huh?

Quote
A person familiar with the situation told AL.com it did concern a potential recruiting violation, which may not have been serious in nature, but Davis was not cooperative with the school when questioned about it. It appears that lack of cooperation led to his departure.

It won't be just another staff change for Alabama because Davis wasn't just any recruiter. The recruiting website 247 Sports ranked him the No. 1 recruiter in the SEC for 2016 and No. 2 nationally behind USC's Tee Martin, crediting him with such signees as Gordo linebacker Ben Davis and Texas quarterback Jalen Hurts.

Among Davis' "top all-time commits," 247 listed nose guard Terrence Cody, cornerback Kendall Sheffield and defensive tackle Daron Payne.

You're right, MD, this is a major hit.  The press focus on the draft is deflecting attention; probably a good thing.  This story is far from over.

As someone said earlier, at least it's April (May) while there's still time to find a replacement coach.  But Bo will be hard to replace as a coach.

Now you have to wonder if the reason he was #1 in the SEC was because of, potentially, other violations.

Yikes! I hadn't thought of that. Like I said, I hope no money was involved.

Maybe this wont have such a bad ending.

According to a source familiar with details of the case, Davis is accused of visiting multiple out-of-state recruits during a period when coaches aren't allowed any contact with recruits.
Quote
The recruits in question did not end up signing with Alabama, according to the source.
Quote
The source compared Davis' alleged violations to the NCAA violations committed by former Florida wide receivers coach Joker Phillips in 2014. Phillips ultimately resigned from Florida, and the Gators received no further penalties from the NCAA.

Great info and definitely good news if true. A major point was his integrity.

Quote
The NCAA contacted Alabama's compliance office regarding the situation, and Davis was questioned and caught being dishonest before eventually resigning, according to the source.

Perhaps another case where the cover-up was worse than the crime.  To me, doesn't sound like a major violation.

We have lost a great position coach and that can't be minimized, but it sounds like the replacement is on the way:

Don't know anything about this guy.  But if CNS likes him, then so be it.

He's from the South so he will be happy to escape sunny Buffalo. Sounds okay, not sure about the recruiting prowess.

It seems LSU under Miles in 2005 had a great defense that year. Coach Dunbar was the D-line coach of course they had CNS players but that is what he will have here and CJP helping him out as DC. He should do well here. I see where he was also the S&C Coach under CNS at LSU. This could be fun i guess. RTR!
