Sounds like Bama tried to blow the game but held on to win in spite of themselves.  Maybe they are figuring out how to finish games.

Glad to see they beat a good A&M team. Looks like from what I've read, that they must have gotten tired at the end, but still found a way to win. Kudos for a big win!

I would say it was more like aTm found a way to lose.

But I will give us credit for building a big enough cushion in the first place that we were able to stay ahead of them in spite of the poor play at the end.

Bottom line, we were 0-21 against ranked teams before this year.  Now we are 4-2 against ranked teams this year.  That is a YUGE improvement any way you look at it.

The main info site for CAJ is back, it's:

THE GOOD

Rebounds: Tide 36, Aggies 29
Off. Reb.: Tide 14, Aggies 8
FG Attempts: Tide 55, Aggies 45
Points in paint: Tide 26, Aggies 18
Bench points: Tide 21, Aggies 10
Rebounding saved the Tide in this game
Tide beats #15 team
CAJ 4-2 against Top 25: Grant against Top 25 teams 2-24, 0-21 last 21 games
11,000 screaming fans at game
Tide improves RPI from 52 to 39
Tide SOS improves from 23 to 14

THE BAD

Tide 22/55 FG's, 40%
FT's:  Tide 11/17, Aggies 16/23  Five point difference for A&M

AND THE UGLY

Tide scored 1 point in last 3:51 of game
Tide reverted back to Grant dribble offense after having 11 point lead

One thing I keep wondering about is our ability to build a big lead but it seems at the end of the game we give our lead away every time. Is this because we are not in shape to play a whole game or what is going with it? I would think CAJ would get these guys in better shape than what we are if that is indeed the problem. RTR!

I think it's a combination of being tired and/or the other team hitting a hot streak. Remember, Hale has missed 7 games, I think, & Ingram played in only 7 so we are short-handed.

Wow, what a few wins can do for the Bama fans. I'm really glad for the fan base after what all of them went through with the last two coaches. CAJ made a promise when he was hired that he would take this team to the Big Dance but I don't think anyone could honestly believe that he could do it in his first year as coach. Well, he has a shot at doing it and it's a long shot but it is a shot.

So many good things are happening with the basketball program now, they'r are winning some games they weren't supposed to win and now the national media is jumping on the Bama bandwagon. Dick Vitale recently tweeted that folks had better watch out because that Bama team is making a move and just wait until CAJ gets his players in. Now how big is that? Vitale has a lot of clout in the college basketball world and he's the kind of guy you really want on your side.

Last night's game wasn't a pretty game but Bama isn't a team just yet that will have many pretty games. Bama doesn't have enough players with the skills to win pretty unless they are on fire from the outside. The South Carolina game in Tuscaloosa is about as pretty of a win that Bama will have this year and Bama was hitting from the outside that night.

Saturday's game at Florida will be a tough one. Florida is the better team and the game is at Florida but Bama does have a chance to win. If they can play Florida the way they played South Carolina, it could happen. Bama will need that outside shot though to have a chance to win. There have been two games this year, Oregon and South Carolina, where I thought Bama shot the ball good. This is the effort they will need to beat the Gators. The thing I fear most though in this game will be the whistle blowers, hopefully it won't be another South Carolina game.

Anyway, I feel good about where the team has gotten to and where they are going. This time last year, I didn't feel this way at all. RTR!!!

I have seen improvement the last 4-5 games especially in rebounding, more energy/enthusiasm (if that's possible), & confidence. Riley Norris shooting & scoring more is a major plus. We have several players who can get hot & score, guys like Obasohan, Norris, Hale, Coleman, & Edwards. True freshman Brandon Austin has shown promise. Hall has looked good the last 2 games & we need that from a big man. Florida on the road is a major test. UF is 16-8 with an RPI of 23 & SOS of 6, 7-4 in SEC play, but we can take them.

I agree with all that is said But, my addition to this post is the last 8 minutes iof the game. We have got to play the last 8 minutes just like we play the first half. We can't give the game away at end of the game. This is what has been hurting us. RTR!
