The game isn't on TV in Tuscaloosa, but I'm following via ESPN Game HQ on the website.  Halfway through the 1st quarter AJ is 1/1 for 37 yards.

Bengals score a TD to go up 7-0 with 4:00 to go in the 1st half.  AJ is 4/8 for 50 yds with 0 TD and no INTs. The game is at San Fran.

With first half coming to a close AJ is 7/11 for 82 yards.  Bengals are going with a run heavy offense, not giving AJ many opportunities to throw.

AJ finished 15/21 192 yards 1 TD no INT and a rating of 115.6. Not bad for a first start!

I'm so proud of AJ! I knew it had been many years since a Bama QB had started and won. He ain't nuttin' but a winner. Unfortunately, I never saw a single highlight from the game and we've been watching the games all afternoon,

I agree. They were talking him up during the preseason. He got reps this week with the first string and it helped him a lot this week. I don't know how long Dalton will be out but I don't see any drop off with AJ.

I think Dalton will be back for the playoffs, but if AJ has a couple more good starts a team in need of a QB next year might be willing to trade for him.  I'm biased of course, but I thought he was better than a fifth round pick when he entered the league.  He may wow anyone with physical abilities, but he always found ways to win at Bama, and other than the late INT against A&M in '12 he never made bad decisions that cost the team a game.
