Wow. Can you say Deontay Wilder?

Quote
Tyson Fury talked a good game and did even better backing it up as he ended Wladimir Klitschko’s long reign over the heavyweight division with a unanimous decision victory in Dusseldorf, Germany, to take home the WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and The Ring heavyweight titles.

Speaking of Deontay Wilder.

Quote
Wilder may have to wait in line for a shot at Fury, because he’s going to have to face Wladimir in a rematch due to the rematch clause he had in the contract. A second fight between Wladimir and Fury will play out within the first half of 2016, depending on if the two fighters can get the contract for the rematch properly negotiated, and if the two of them can stay injury free long enough for the fight to come off.

Quote
Whether Wilder gets a unification fight with Fury will also depend on whether Fury and his management wants that fight or not. They can probably make more money by avoiding Wilder and focusing on milking his titles against the top contenders. The highest ranked contenders for the IBF, WBA and WBO titles at this moment are as follows: Luis Ortiz, Vyacheslav Glazkov, and Charles Martin. I don’t think Fury can beat Ortiz, but he can probably defeat Glazkov and Martin. If Fury wants to milk his titles for a while, he’s got little in the way of a threat with the IBF and WBO. Ortiz is a different story, of course.

I would love to see Deontay get a shot at unifying all the titles. Speaking of which, I didn't realize there were so many now. It reads like an eye chart. Too bad he doesn't have the SEC, IRS, PGA, IPA, DVD, and IOC titles as well.

I love to watch boxing and would love nothing more than to see Wilder have a shot at the unification title.  However, there are too many politics within professional boxing and I don't' see that opportunity coming along any time in the foreseeable future...

Klitschko is a tough hombre but I wonder if father Time didn't play a role in his defeat. I'm a Wilder fan big time but I'm not so sure he fits in the class of Klitschko.

You make a good point about Klitschko's age.  I actually thought of the possibility that he possibly threw this fight so he wouldn't have to face the possibility of losing to that "dirty"Ameican...

Yeah, I was stunned at how old he is, 39. I thought he was 35 or 36. The main guy now as far as being the biggest threat is Juan Ortiz, a young Cuban. Big, tough, strong, & good.

Wilder just hasn't fought the caliber of opponents as is listed above. It makes a difference in how you prepare for a fight knowing what to expect when you crawl in that ring.

Yeah, there used to be 2 "titles" then three. It's ridiculous now. It looks like anyone can have their own boxing title organization. Maybe we should have one under the heading of CRS Boxing Championship.
