I didn't get to watch the game, but this is exciting!  The team needed a quality win after two disappointing losses against good teams.  We're moving in the right direction.

Wasn't at home and couldn't watch the game.  I was shocked, shocked...(pun intended!) to see the title of this thread. Great win for CAJ and the team.

Quote
Alabama's struggled against good teams.

And Friday, it faced Wichita State coached by the man who turned down an offer to lead the Crimson Tide program. But this one was much different from blowout losses to Dayton and Xavier.

Alabama 64, Wichita State 60.

Easily the biggest win of Avery Johnson's tenure saw Alabama survive a 3-point shooting blitz for a wild victory in Orlando. It ended a streak of 21 straight losses to ranked teams for Alabama.

***

Alabama (3-2) moves on to play the winner of Notre Dame-Iowa in the fifth-place game of the AdvoCare Invitational at 6 p.m. Sunday.

A 4th tough game in-a-row for the Tide. Both teams, especially Notre Dame are highly thought of by analysts.

Good win for the Tide. I feel much better about the team this afternoon. Maybe Dayton  and Xavier are just real good.

They are. I expect both teams to make the Sweet 16 or better. They both have good coaches, especially Dayton with Archie Miller. They made the Elite 8 2 years ago. Chris Mack is 134-74 at Xavier after 6 years. I was hoping we would make a run for Archie Miller as HC.

Bama plays Notre Dame on Sunday 6 pm CST on ESPNU.

ND plays BB in the ACC?  You have to be tough to play in that conference.

That's what I've been saying, Bama BB has one tough schedule.  I count 10 games against teams currently ranked in the top 25 -- and Dayton should be ranked, currently 4-0 and made it to the Sweet 16 last year.

The win against ND would be a great improvement in our BB program. We all know it takes one game at a time to get the process working. I have already seen enough evidence for me to know we are going to one day soon be competing with Kentucky again for the SEC crown in BB. RTR!

I'm watching the Xavier vs Dayton bb game. Xavier leads 43-35 at the half. Bill Murray is at the game. His son Like is an assistant coach at Xavier.

Well, now I'm confused. We lost to Dayton by 32 and to Xavier by 19. Xavier beat Dayton 90-61.  Huh?

LOL! I was thinking the same thing. I think we wore Dayton out for their game against Xavier.
