Houston remained undefeated, not Memphis.

Correct, Memphis now has 2 losses. Houston won 35-34 with the back-up QB coming in to rally team. If major teams keep losing and several have 2 losses, Houston could sneak in at #4. If Clemson loses a game, they are out, the ACC is perceived as being very weak. Some interesting things could still happen. Plus, Bama is the SEC's only hope to make the Final 4 now.

I disagree.  Florida is not in a bad position if thy win out including the SECCG. If they do that they the will most likely have beaten Bama knocking us out.  We also need for LSU to not lose again to help maintain our strength of schedule.  It also wouldn't hurt for some of our other conference opponents to start stepping up their game...

You're right, forgot about Florida. They have to play FSU & the SECCG so those could be big games for UF.

The problem is, we beat a team, then their feelings get hurt and they continue to lose, knocking them out of the polls.

If the final four teams remain the same for the playoffs, I wonder if the committee adjusts the teams so Clemson and Notre Dame doesn't play each other in the first round.

If those top four teams remain the same and the committee adjust the teams rank for that purpose then they would be showing bias IMO...Course, when did that ever stop anyone in the past...

Laughing  Prolly true.  But this committee is probably better than those stupid polls.  At least this committee rewards tough schedules.

There will be lots of whining about the #4 team, NO MATTER WHO GETS IN.  Those teams ranked 5, 6, 7 will all have a gripe.  No way to eliminate that.

Last year I thought they would have OSU and Oregon play, a traditional Rose Bowl matchup, with Bama playing FSU in the Sugar Bowl, but they didn't.

And if there were 8 or 16 or 32 teams in the playoff, there will always be that element. Just look at the NCAA basketball tourney.

If we get in the playoff you know we will play the one they think can beat us. If not if we get to the NCG we will play our best. RTR!

Everyone is completely overlooking North Carolina. They are an excellent team. The season opening loss to USCe was a complete fluke. They've crushed everybody since then. They are very capable of beating Clemson in the ACCCG, plus Clemson has to play at USCe. They are down this year, but that game will be their Superbowl.

I think the only real question is, will an undefeated or one loss Big 12 team, make it in over ND?
North Carolina was up 45-0 on Miami before coasting to a 59-21 win.  Clemson will have their hands full.

I do think OK State or OK could easily jump ND, considering how ND's opponents keep losing.

... plus ND stays home on Dec 5th when the other teams will be in playoff games (Big 19, SEC, ACC) or final, significant games (Big 12).

Good point.

I think of ND as an ACC team now, considering their agreement with that conference.    And the ACC should not be the first conference to get two teams in the playoffs.
