Of course the team needs to worry about Arkansas next week.  But the fans can look ahead to the remaining games.

Texas A&M, Tennessee, and LSU all have bye weeks before they play us.  Mississippi State plays on a Thursday the week before so they will have a couple of extra days too.  I thought this scheduling disadvantage was supposed to be fixed by now.    Whatever, SEC office, whatever.    Didn't these teams get the memo that the dynasty is over?

Texas A&M and LSU are really the only two teams left that have a legitimate chance of making it to Atlanta.

I really am not concerned about LSU.  They are one dimensional.  They were 4/15 passing today against a cupcake.  We have the best front 7 in college football, so this matchup plays to our strengths.  Their defense is not nearly as stout as it usually is either.  They have given up about 20 to 25 points to such powerhouses as Mississippi State, Auburn, Syracuse, and Eastern Michigan.  I think the loss of Chavis as DC has hurt them.

Speaking of Chavis, he is now at Texas A&M.  They, on the other hand, are a real concern.  Their biggest weakness has always been defense, true to their Big 12 heritage.  It seems they are better on defense this year so far, and will only get better in the years to come once Chavis has a few recruiting classes to work with.  After the 59 to nothing beat down last year they will be out for revenge in two weeks.  And unfortunately they start getting ready for us today.  Plus their offense matches up better against our defense.  This game could very well be our toughest remaining challenge in the regular season.

Having said all of that, if we continue to play like we did today for 10 more games, we will be hoisting #16 in January.  I know we lost to Ole Miss, but even so I still think we control our own destiny.  Ole Miss is not that good of a team really, and I expect them to probably lose to both Texas A&M and LSU.  I do think Ole Miss is a little better than Mississippi State, but State might give them all they want in that last game of the season.  However, we only need them to lose to one of those teams at this point.  I have no doubt they will lose at least 1 to 3 more conference games.

What remaining teams are you most concerned about?

There's a lot of football left to be played, but I think we saw the true potential of this team today.  The unfortunate loss to Ole Miss leaves no room for error, but I think if Bama gets past A&M in two weeks they run the table and beat Florida/Georgia in Atlanta.

Your todays are our yesterdays!

I'm just going to enjoy every game, one at a time.  I hope we play well against Arkansas, and you're correct: we have the potential to win them all.

I agree that if we win out that we will, most likely play in Atlanta and the playoffs too.  Still not convinced that we control our own destiny however until OM loses again.  They are not a bad team, just not as good as the world thought prior to last night.  They could still surprise some teams, like aTm and/or LSU.  Both of those teams look pretty good too however so I do believe that at least one of them will likely beat OM.  After OM does lose one more conference game, then I'll say that we control our own destiny...

I agree that Bama matches up well v. LSU, and that the Aggies could be Bama's biggest challenge in the regular season, as their passing game attacks Bama's defensive weakness.  Bama handled the Aggies easily last year; hopefully not too much has changed and Bama is able to dominate them once again.  I do think the Aggies are better this year than last year, though, so it could be a tough game.

I'm not looking too far ahead at this point.  One game at a time.  Arkansas is no cupcake, despite some struggles they can still play football.

One game you did not mention is the SECCG.  It looks like Florida is the front runner to represent the east in that game.  McElwain is a great coach who seems very capable of exploiting his opponents weaknesses.  Even with Colorado State, he managed to make a game of it v. Bama a few years ago...  with Florida's increased talent base, that is a team to watch out for.   They seem to be improving as the season progresses as well.  I'm not sure in his first season he can get the Gators up to Championship caliber, but that's a team worth watching.

Positive news: we have a bye before the LSU game @ Tuscaloosa, with Tennessee & Arkansas also in T-Town. The only real possible problem is A&M @ there with their bye. Lots of time for Chavis to game plan us & he is the real deal. Loud, noisy crowd thirsting for revenge. Our defense will have to play lights out & the offense must play an exceptional game of very few penalties & no turnovers. Miss. State still overrated & Auburn is a bus wreck. Coker came into his own against Georgia in horrible conditions.

I am worried to death about Arkansas! Because they are our next game. We are in the throws of the SEC schedule and we can't afford to look ahead. If we plan for, and execute against Arky, then it will be time to worry about TAMU.
