And the story continues. Read the link.

Quote
Lt. Kip Hart, the assistant commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, said during a press conference Tuesday that because the city's police department had probable cause to arrest Taylor on March 28, the charges filed against him that night will stand until the homicide unit can conduct a full investigation of the incident.

Quote
"[Officers] observed injuries to her and damage to the apartment where she said the incident occurred," Hart said. "Based on what they say and based on her original statement, there was probable case to make the arrest."

Homicide unit?

The Homicide Unit is supposed to be the best detectives & domestic abuse is such a hot potato they want to make sure nothing is missed. The media & public would be watching very closely.

What a train wreck for Coach Saban.

Even if he would agree to meet with Jonathan it would be hard to believe his side of the story at this point, or hers either for that matter.  Based on this latest fiasco and his history of poor decision making (problem solving skills?) things have gone too far and he needs to be cut loose.  Right or wrong it's a black eye for the program.  Also, for the record I don't really didn't have a problem with Coach Saban's decision to give him a chance at Bama.  He has a lot more experience with student athletes than all the "Finebaum's" rolled into one and I trust his judgment.  It's worked before, good example is Rolando McClain who had a troubled past (his words) and channeled his intensity on the field as a team leader.

Sometimes I think they should bring back the athletic dorm.

Bingo! Another disaster decision by the NCAA which has had many unintended consequences. Also, as far as I know, Rolando never had a felony arrest, especially involving abuse of a woman, before or after his recruitment to Alabama. You nailed it, a total train wreck for Saban & the University. What a mess!

I agree on all points.   Applause E-Cred

The NCAA decision to take away athletic dorms was based on sound reasoning, but the end result was a lot of wasted lives.  I once read about Billy Brewer's experiences in the athletic dorm at Ole Miss.  He and his wife lived among the athletes.  They went through hell keeping them all in line, but it paid dividends.  These kids need direction - EVERY NIGHT!
