I'm sure they will be looking at the same coach or coaches as us. Their problem is their athletic department has been losing money.

Quote
Donnie Tyndall is out as the University of Tennessee's head basketball coach

The athletics department, which confirmed Tyndall's termination, will hold a press conference Friday morning.

"It is disappointing that we have to take this action," athletics director Dave Hart said in a statement. "It is highly likely that coach Tyndall will face significant penalties at the conclusion of the NCAA's infractions process. We believe this decision is in the best interests of the University of Tennessee."

Losing money, and the basketball program in particular seems to be circling the toilet bowl since Pearl's time.

I'm biased obviously, but Bama is not a bad situation to come into.  We have an administration demanding a winner and willing to pay for it, a solid team just needing a good coach, and a fan base that will fill Coleman for every SEC game and good non-conference game when the team is competitive.

One year ago this weekend UT was playing in the Sweet 16. Immediately after the season Cuonzo Martin suddenly and unexpectedly resigned to take a lesser job at Cal. UT hires Tyndall and he only lasts 1 year. That is a fast downfall. It hurts when coaching staffs have turnover at the assistant level. The juniors and seniors on the UT team will have their 3rd head coach in 3 years.

A once proud UT athletic power in both football and basketball has fallen and can't get back up.

Something about the state of Tennessee. I worked for 3 sheriffs in 3 years there.

You got my attention. Sheriffs are elected to 4 years terms. How did that happen?   My guess is an election year and some guy got impeached, kicked out, arrested, quit or something else strange happened?

Pretty good guess. The sheriff that hired me got in trouble with the feds and was forced to resign. His chief deputy took over for a year until the election, which he lost to sheriff #3.
