A look at five areas of interest for the Alabama Crimson Tide as Nick Saban's team enters the offseason.

1. Figure out the secondary

In 2014, opponents averaged 226 passing yards per game, the most surrendered by a UA defense in Nick Saban's eight seasons with the Crimson Tide. The 19 touchdown passes opponents completed this season were the most allowed by an Alabama defense since Saban's first season in Tuscaloosa.

2. Establish Coker as the guy

3. Address both offensive guard spots and right tackle

4. Identify DePriest's successor

5. Reload at wide receiver

Some serious holes to fill on next year's team.  I'm hoping 1 -2 incoming freshmen -- (Jan. enrollees) -- can make serious contributions next season.

I am not convinced that Coker is the answer for qb.  He may be, but it could be that one of the other kids might be better...

I am not sure we need to count on first year freshmen. My hope is some of the younger guys will hit the weight room and conditioning hard this off season and make a lot of progress during spring practice. We have recruited better than anyone. There should be plenty of talent on the team.

I look for Cooper Bateman to make a big push for the starting QB job.

I would think a better pass rush would be at the top of the list.

My thoughts exactly, especially with the secondary.

Definitely a need here but...don't you think our secondary played worse than our pass rush on passing downs?  We gave up a lot, and I mean A LOT of 3rd & long plays with a pass all season.
